Vesper AI – Privacy Policy

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains how Vesper AI (“App”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS application.

2. Information We Collect

a. Google Account Data

When you sign in using Google, we collect your basic profile info (name, email address) via OAuth.

b. Gmail Data

If you grant permission, Vesper AI accesses your Gmail data through the Gmail API for the following purposes:

• Reading and summarizing your emails aloud (read-only scope).
• Composing and sending emails on your behalf (send scope).

We do not store or share the content of your Gmail messages.

We may temporarily store the text of user requests (e.g., “send I’ll be right there”) to improve app performance and maintain usage history.

c. Voice and Audio Data

During setup, Vesper AI records short enrollment clips for Picovoice Eagle voice recognition. These clips are stored locally on your device and not transmitted to any external server.

d. Location Data

We collect real-time location data to provide navigation and nearby place recommendations. Location data is not stored permanently unless part of your navigation history (which you can clear anytime).

e. App Usage Data

We collect anonymized usage data (e.g., feature usage, error logs) through Firebase Analytics (future). This data helps us improve performance and stability.

3. How We Use Your Data

• Provide navigation, email, and AI-response functionality.
• Improve recognition accuracy and user experience.
• Maintain app security and troubleshoot issues.
• Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your data or share it with advertisers.

4. Data Storage and Retention

• Voice enrollment data is stored locally on your device.
• Text-based request logs and navigation history are stored securely in Firebase.
• Gmail message content is accessed only in-memory and not stored on servers.

You may request deletion of all stored data anytime (see “User Rights”).

5. Third-Party Services

Vesper AI uses:

• Google APIs (Gmail, Maps) — see Google Privacy Policy
• Firebase — for secure cloud storage
• OpenAI API — for AI question answering
• Picovoice Eagle — for wake-word detection

These services process data in accordance with their own privacy policies.

6. Data Security

We use industry-standard encryption (HTTPS/TLS) for all data transmissions. Firebase and Google Cloud provide additional access control and encryption at rest.

7. Your Rights

• Access, correct, or delete your data.
• Revoke Google account permissions at any time via your Google Account Permissions page.

8. Children’s Privacy

Vesper AI is not intended for children under 16 years of age. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.
